Dive into the world of ceramics or refine your skills with this four-week wheel throwing course for two. Over four sessions you and your friend or partner share the experience of learning on the wheel, with plenty of time to practise, experiment and ask questions.

This course is suitable for complete beginners as well as anyone who has tried wheel throwing before and wants to build more confidence. You will learn the full process from centering and pulling up the clay to trimming and finishing your pieces. At the end of the course you will have a small collection of handmade work, fired and glazed in the studio here in Rotterdam.

Studio Timmerman offers a flexible four-session course where you can join solo or bring a friend—it’s the same price either way. In my home studio, you’ll dive into the world of ceramics, exploring everything from basic techniques to finishing and glazing your creations.

The process requires time and patience, which is why this course is designed over four lessons, each lasting around 2 hours. During this time, we’ll cover the essentials of working with clay, mastering wheel throwing, and perfecting your pieces with glazing.
