Whether you are a complete beginner or looking to build on your existing skills, our wheel throwing and handbuidling classes in our Rotterdam studio offer an inspiring environment to learn, experiment and express your creativity on the wheel.

Studio Timmerman is located in the Spaanse Polder area of Rotterdam (Zuid Holland), in a creative hub shared with other makers and craftspeople, and is easy to reach from Rotterdam and surrounding areas like Schiedam, Vlaardingen and Delft.

Four-Week Pottery Course

This four week wheel throwing course is taught as a private class, either one on one or with a friend or partner. You will learn the full process at the wheel, from centering and shaping clay to creating your own cups, bowls or vases. Perfect if you want a solid foundation in ceramics and time to build real confidence on the wheel.

Two-Hour Introductory Workshop

A two hour private wheel throwing workshop for one or two people, designed for complete beginners or the simply curious. You get a step by step introduction to the wheel and make your first hand thrown piece in a calm, supportive studio setting. Ideal if you want to try pottery before committing to a longer course.

Handbuilding workshop

Discover the possibilities of working with clay in this 2,5 hour handbuilding workshop. In a small and welcoming studio setting, you will learn how to shape and build forms by hand using simple, accessible techniques.

This workshop is suitable for complete beginners as well as those who would like to further develop their skills. You will leave with your own handmade ceramics and a good understanding of what working with clay by hand involves.
